Drop the confetti - the Homeschooler's New Year will be here soon! Do you celebrate a second new year? We do, when the school year is complete and we can start next year fresh. And with the Second New Year comes all the new curricula - new plans, hopes and dreams with it.
Check out my 2011/2012 Curriculum page to see what we plan to use this year.

It looks like you have a great line up! We are similar in what we like for curriculum. We are making the Apologia switch this year for Science. I am just not sure where to start within it. Technically, we are supposed to be on 4th year in the classical cycle, but my daughter who is starting a coop, is going to be in the the third with them, so I am torn if I should move everyone back to 3rd and then try to figure out where that fits with Apologia or keep my kids in the 4th and figure that one out. I would love to know your thoughts of where we should begin since you have experience with them:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my rite of passage post on my blog.
I am inspired! Thanks for all the links! My soon-to-be 4 yr old will be beginning some letter & number work this year. And I just ordered ALL the Apologia science books for my 7 yr old.
ReplyDeleteHi Turkana! Which books are you looking at specifically. In my opinion, all the elementary ones are on about the same level. You can add to or take away from them as needed. So I would say just choose the ones with the topics your kids are most interested in for elementary. Then just pick up with General and Physical sciences in middle school :)
ReplyDeleteI loved reading through your curriculum plans. I'm still working on mine and feeling pretty stuck. It helps to hear what works for others and it is inspiring to see that others have their plans organized and ready to go. Well, inspiring and then again, a reminder of how disorganized I am!
ReplyDeleteLOL - Sharia. I just have a plan laid...I haven't ordered all the books yet, so.... :) I'm not all that organized either.
