Amazon Boycott

I try to keep negativity out of the blogosphere, but I take the protection of children VERY SERIOUSLY. In case you haven't heard, there is a Kindle book for sale on Amazon entitled The Pedopihile's Guide To Love And Pleasure. This is the author's description.

This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught.

Seriously, I'm not making this up. There have been reports of Amazon removing negative comments about this book and rumor that they are defending the sale of this book under "Freedom of Speech". Well, I'm sorry but that doesn't cut it. I am all for freedom of speech, but when that speech is in support of illegal activities that prey upon our children I take great offense.

Amazon, I love you. I purchase from you regularly but that will not continue if you do not take a stand to protect our children rather than encourage criminal activity. My extended family has been shaken by the slimy hand of pedophilia and I can tell you the damage it does to children is immeasurable.

This is your chance Amazon to take a stand to protect our children. To be one of the first in big business to stand up and say that you care more about common decency and children's safety than you do about freedom of speech for those teaching others how to hurt children. Please. Please. I beg you. Stand for our children.

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD. LINK UP BELOW IF YOU PLAN TO STAND WITH ME AND BOYCOTT AMAZON UNTIL THEY HAVE NOT ONLY REMOVED THIS BOOK BUT TAKEN A STAND AGAINST VULGARITY AND PROTECT OUR CHILDREN.

  1. I posted about this too- and will update if the Amazon PR or customer service people get back to me.

I also posted the Amazon Kindle content guidelines - they say that THEY determine inappropriate content. So there are NO EXCUSES, Amazon!

  2. Oh believe me, I won't be spending the hundreds of dollars on Christmas gifts I usually spend at Amazon. And I'm taking down my affiliate links too. This is inexcusable.

  3. My Christmas budget might not be huge, but I can assure you that not a dollar of it will be going to Amazon. I believe in free speech--I also believe in my right to shop with whomever I choose--and I choose to shop with those who do not support the abuse of children.

  5. I am absolutely appalled by this. Amazon will sell a book condoning the victimization of innocent children just to make money.

I started a facebook page called People Who Will Ban Amazon.com Until they Stop Selling Pedophile Literature.

  8. Shared and linked. I'm totally disgusted and will never buy anything through Amazon again. They can stop selling this tomorrow and I will still never shop through them again.

  9. It looks like the link is no longer valid. You can do a search for the book on Amazon and it comes up with a result, but you click on the result and it says "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site". Maybe Amazon got the hint?

  10. The site you linked to is down, have they removed it? I will be checking this out. I was going to buy a Kindle for Christmas, now I am not so sure.

  12. I'd be hesitant to jump on the anti-Amazon bandwagon without knowing what caused this. It could be as simple as an idiot in a cubical who didn't proofread the title before letting it go live. Judging by the fact the link is broken, it looks like they're already in the process of removing it, which tells me they are interested in doing the right thing, even if some entry-level lackey made a collossal blunder.
It's still not ok that it went through, but they are a big business and I'm sure it's easy for things to fall through the cracks.
Thank you for bring this to everyones attention!

  13. Is the book still listed? The link won't work for me- PRAISE GOD if it's not! Otherwise, I am off to post about this now and will link up when I'm done.

  14. I wholeheartedly support a boycott. Amazon has pulled the book but continues to sell other questionable books that put our children at risk. Including one that targets lob=vers of boys. I will never buy from them again.
