I've committed to participating in The 30 Day Giving Challenge. And my kids are doing it too...like it or not mwahahaha. And boy am I looking forward to it! I am so excited to see the changes God will work in all of our hearts. And not just because during our 'giving brainstorming session' I was bombarded with, uh, helpful, ideas like:
- You need to give me a ride to the skate park
- You could give me double my allowance for a month
- I could give him a fat lip and a black eye
- I could give you my chores to do for a month
*sigh* Teenagers, they're all comedians.
We've created a giving tree like the one Jane shared at The Homeschool Village. Each day we'll add a leaf (in the shape of our hand) to the tree; the leaf will have the way we gave for the day written on it. By the end of the month our tree should have 150 leaves on it! I think this will be a fantastic visual for the boys to see that even small acts of kindness can add up to big things!
I hope you'll consider participating too.

This is a fantastic idea! I am going to start this in our house in hopes that it lives long past it's month!
