Fruitful Thursday : Peace

I'm so sorry, I skipped Fruitful Thursday last week! I don't know how I forgot it, it completely slipped my mind. I guess I've been feeling more peaceful lately, and that's a good thing!

On my last Fruitful Thursday I questioned my own attitude and how it can influence those around me as well as myself, asking "Do I come in peace?"

I found even though I didn't mean to , my words and tone were not usually conducive to peace at home. And it showed on my face...set jaw and a slightly furrowed brow. Even if I wasn't stressed I had the classic 'mom face'.

It had become habit.

I've done some work the last couple weeks. I've put in the effort of awareness. I'm trying to be aware of my tone, words and face. I'm speaking sweetly and softly and feeling as well as seeing a difference. I'm finding that some times it just takes focus and a little effort to put ourselves in a peaceful mindset, thus spreading peace to those around us.

If you're having trouble finding that peaceful place take a mental vacation. Take a few moments in the beginning of the day, or throughout it as needed. Listen to the calming sound of the waves, or find a something else that brings a peaceful feeling to you, and meditate on the following verse.


"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." ~ John 14:27

  1. I've been working on this the last few weeks and attempting to have a peaceful attitude and quiet voice, really works.
